The VEINS Announces 2021-22 Scientific Committee
VIVA Physicians is pleased to announce four new appointments to the Scientific Committee for The VEINS at VIVA. Serving a two-year term, this multidisciplinary group of experts will work with Course Director Maureen Kohi, MD, to develop comprehensive, novel, and balanced curricula for today's venous specialists.
Now in its 11th year, The VEINS will return to Las Vegas on October 3-4 to once again delve into the latest data, toughest clinical challenges, and emerging technologies that will shape attendees' practices.
Geoffrey Barnes, MD
Dr. Barnes is a cardiologist and vascular medicine specialist at the University of Michigan Frankel Cardiovascular Center, and currently co-directs the Michigan Anticoagulation Quality Improvement Initiative. His research and clinical areas of expertise include anticoagulation management as well as treatment of venous thromboembolism.
Michael Jolly, MD
Dr. Jolly is an interventional cardiologist with a sub-specialty focus in peripheral vascular interventions. His work focuses on complex coronary intervention, acute pulmonary embolism, acute deep vein thrombosis, central venous recanalization, aortic aneurysm, and carotid stenting. He has written peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts and chapters in leading medical textbooks and is recurring faculty at a multitude of specialty scientific medical conferences. He currently practices at OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
Kathleen J. Ozsvath, MD
Dr. Ozsvath is currently a member of the The Vascular Associates and St. Peter's Health Partners. She serves as Chief of Surgery at Samaritan Hospital in Troy, New York, as well as Professor of Surgery at Albany Medical College. She specializes in surgical and endovascular treatment of PVD, open and endovascular AAA repair, carotid intervention and surgery, and comprehensive treatment of deep and superficial venous disease.
Gloria M. Salazar, MD
Dr. Salazar specializes in women’s and venous interventional procedures, focusing on uterine fibroid embolization, varicose veins, pelvic venous disorders, venous access, and IVC filters. She is an Assistant Professor of Radiology at Massachusetts General Hospital-Harvard Medical School, serves as Venous Center Medical Director of Waltham Vein Center, Co-Director of the Massachusetts General Fibroids Program, and Simulation and Patient Experience Officer for the Department of Radiology.
