Delphi Consensus on Reporting Standards in Clinical Studies for Endovascular Treatment of Acute Iliofemoral Venous Thrombosis and Chronic Iliofemoral Venous Obstruction
In 2022 The VIVA Foundation convened leading clinicians and researchers as well as government regulatory representatives and industry representatives for a Vascular Leaders Forum (VLF) on venous stenting and thrombectomy. The Forum had a particular focus on appropriate use, patient selection, and identifying best outcome measures and study designs for future trials.
Following the meeting, The Foundation partnered with EBQ Consulting to undertake a Delphi consensus process. The resulting article is now available and will guide future studies to avoid reporting issues such as providing an incomplete description of study populations and the inappropriate attribution of trial results that may reflect natural history and confounders.
